What would cause fluid in the lungs, and what are any possible treatments for it? Tanuki has an incredibly enlarged spleen, or possibly liver, and now has seemed to develop fluid in her lungs. A lot, by the looks and sounds of it. She didn't seem to have any major problems when it was just her spleen, but now with this, each breath is a labour. We don't know if this will clear up on its own (the vet said there was a very slim chance that it might be a viral infection) or if it might be something much more serious. There are many times during the day that I wonder if she will last the next few hours, and yet other times when she is somewhat playful and energetic. If anyone knows of any possible treatments or actions, please tell me as soon as possible! Thank you!! My ferret-babies: Tanuki the Super Star, Kitsune the Angel, and Haku the Diva. Plus, one kitty, Kitty. |

Fluids can be a sign of cancer or heart problems. Lasix will take care of fluids and does it pretty quickly. Tauvi had an enlarged heart and constantly had a fluid build up. She took Lasix daily VIVA LA REVOLUTION!! Mom and Field Sergeant to the Butt Guns Brigade: Quizzy, Parker, Liberty, Cassie. So this can work for fluid that is in the lungs, too? Where can I get this Lasix? Will I need to go to a vet? Thanks! My ferret-babies: Tanuki the Super Star, Kitsune the Angel, and Haku the Diva. Plus, one kitty, Kitty. |

Lasix can be prescribed by a vet. Also known as ferosimide, yes it will help with fluid build up in the lungs. VIVA LA REVOLUTION!!
